We know virtually nothing about the mysterious Daughter. Well we say mysterious, it just means that we couldn’t find a website for her on the first page of well known search engines. We like that she’s low-key, and let’s face it, that makes a change in this era of wannabees and look-at-me’s. So Daughter, please don’t change, try not to get sucked into the machine and carry on keeping it real. Daughter (Elena Tonra) sings songs that feel like getting a postcard from a good friend. Though she describes her music as tales of ghosts, drowning lovers and setting fire to her insides. Well one of us is clearly wrong!
We just love finding new music totally by accident. We have no idea how we found The Good Natured, but Martha was sure she’d heard it on that Radio1, until she realised that she knew it because it was played in the Caroline TV office the week before. How we manage to put a website and radio programme together is mystery sometimes….we’re a mess! However we found The Good Natured, we’re damn glad that we did, as we’ve been wandering around for the last week chanting Be My Animal’s chorus of ‘whoa oh oh’. We gave it a spin on the Caroline TV radio programme on 27th February, and we still can’t get it out of our head. Superb!
James Owen Fender has created the perfect anthem for all of us oppressed workers dreaming of sunnier skies, and anything but the 9-5. At least, that’s what we heard when we listened to it. And James sings it from the heart, and we reckon he’s been there. In fact, as an up-and-coming artist, he may well still be there, sweeping floors or stacking shelves. If we’re all really lucky, James will have also inadvertently started the trend of 2011…the children’s TV style boiler suit.
We’re not a bunch of music industry types here at Radio Caroline TV, but just some people who love music. And nothing pleases us more than finding great new music, completely by accident. Can’t remember how we discovered William Fitzsimmons, but we’re glad we did, and gave his song ‘The Tide Pulls From The Moon’ a spin on the radio show last weekend! Gold In The Shadow is his new album, and we think you’ll love this track, ‘Beautiful Girl’.
Let’s Buy Happiness must have bought up the whole darn shop as ‘Fast Fast‘ is a joyous 3 minutes of perfect pop. The sound of winter melting away and a great record guaranteed to warm the cockles of your heart…and that’s a medical fact!
