The Lottery Winners have not only cleaned up by winning Live & Unsigned, they’ve made history by becoming the first band to be featured on Radio Caroline TV! We love their new single Lover’s Lane which is out on February 14th, which is apparently Valentine’s Day. Does anybody know where there’s a late night garage open around here?

Hey music lovers, Radio Caroline DJs will be whipping up a primal hoot of sound this weekend in Shrewsbury for Caroline True Records, Shrewsbury’s very own label of love. From early Hacienda, to Madchester, and all the rain-soaked greatness in between, if it’s Manchester…it’s in. Good times!

Any Other Day by Flow Machines is an electro epic full of glitches, chirrups and rattling pulses but with a sweeping synth-drenched chorus that Radiohead could take a few tips from and that lifts the deadpan, introspective lyrics above the urban decay and isolation and into a better place. This came out as a single in October 2011 but has been getting lots of airplay on Caroline TV recently because we love it, but also in anticipation of the long-awaited LP Hi-Res which is out at the end of January.

As debut singles go, SlyDigs’ Electric Love is one hell of an entrance to make.

And this is just what rock needs right now, as let’s face it, guitar music is not having a great time at the moment. SlyDigs have got the looks, the haircuts, the riffs, a Manchester postcode and a love of money, women and fast cars. In short, everything they need to be the saviours of rock ‘n’ roll and kick out the indie kids and electronica knob twiddlers.

Armed with a pile of fuzzed up riffs, SlyDigs play at the speed of sound and Electric Love is dirty rock ‘n’ roll. Though not dirty enough – I was really hoping the track was going to be a potty-mouthed filth fest but as it turns out, it’s fairly wholesome. The guys even profess to a love of Bob Dylan and beat poetry, but I’m sure that’s just a ruse to get off with more girls.

Richard.
